I’m Liza Mennes, an illustrator and animator based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
After graduating from HKU with a bachelor’s degree in animation and design, I began freelancing and worked on feature films, commercials, and personal projects.
I love working with passionate clients who have fun ideas and an open approach to design.
Dreamy & Colorful
My art is whimsical and dreamy. I like to explore new worlds and create fun and charming characters that go on adventures. I like to create cozy, soft, warm atmospheres, often while listening to cute lofi music.
Animation is storytelling
When I animate I try to convey a lot of feeling in my animations. Whether it’s gentle and subtle or full of high energy.
Capturing the right expressions and movements in a character is what I always look for. It’s the small details that bring characters to life.
Hopes and dreams
In my spare time I love making music, painting, skating, and hanging out with friends. The sun makes me happiest and near the sea is where I feel most at home. I dream of owning a dog one day and starting my own Honnibri clothing brand!
